Eureka's Silent City

Eureka Springs Historical Museum – Where the past springs to Life! will host its annual “Voices from Eureka’s Silent City” cemetery walking tours.

This event has been wildly popular each year and it is a great way to experience the “living history” of Eureka Springs.  Actors in period costumes come alive in the cemetery and share stories of their unique and colorful pasts.

  • This is a one-hour guided walking tour through the Eureka Springs' Cemetery.

  • Tours leave every 20 minutes and begin at 5:30pm lasting through 8:30pm.

For more information call the Eureka Springs Historical Museum at 479-253-9417 or click the link below for information and tickets to this event.

October 2024 performances will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - October 17, 18, 19 and then again on Friday and Saturday - October 25, 26. The 2024 theme is "Year of the Woman."

The Eureka Springs Historical Museum strives to preserve and protect the history and heritage of our city and our people. The museum is located at the south entrance into the downtown historic district at 95 S. Main Street.

These history buffs look forward to visiting with you and they love to share the history of Eureka Springs with our visitors. The museum's visitor center is packed full of information that will enhance your visit and they have a cool gift shop that offers souvenirs, books, and more ... many of these treasures are created by local artists.

These cemetery tours operate rain or shine, so it is highly recommended to dress warm and bring an umbrella or poncho if inclement weather is in the forecast. There's nothing quite like glowing lanterns in a misty fog rolling through the cemetery in October!

Local Tip: Your ticket is good for any single performance on any of the tour nights, so, plan accordingly. If the weather isn't favorable for you, hold on to that ticket and simply plan to take the tour on a different evening with better weather.

The museum features permanent and temporary exhibits on the first and second floors that provide a unique perspective on the city of Eureka Springs. Their collection contains over 20,000 artifacts that include photographs, travel memorabilia, art, furniture, musical instruments, documents, and textiles that date from before the founding of Eureka Springs in 1879 to contemporary times.

The museum’s income is derived from admissions, donations, fundraisers, research fees, and gift shop sales, as well as memberships (which are available to all interested persons).

This non-profit museum welcomes donations and fundraisers, like this annual "Voices from Eureka's Silent City" help keep the museum doors open. Thank you for your donations to our wonderful historical museum.❤️
